For the faculty, students, and staff of Warren Easton Fundamental Senior High School, 3019 Canal St, New Orleans LA 70119.
I am a New Orleans public school teacher. I have been at Warren Easton for four years teaching freshman World History and Sociology/Psychology for seniors. Prior to working at Easton, I taught U.S and Louisiana studies at Middle Level Alternative on St. Roch. I live in the Bywater (the "upper" ninth) and my daughter, Annaje', is also a New Orleans public school student. I am currently in exile in Ann Arbor, MI (@30 miles outside of Detroit) and with the help of the people in this amazing community I'm building a network of NOPS teachers and families. I am dedicated to every student who has ever walked through my doors (hey ya'll!) and to all kids, present and future, who will be walking through the doors of New Orleans Public Schools. This blog is specifically for the family of Warren Easton; the students, teachers, administration and alumni who have, through many generations and obstacles, maintained, for nearly a century, a tradition of pride and dignity on Canal Street. As the city changes let's work together to keep Warren Easton a reality.
