U of M wants you!!!!

Hey ya'll!
I've been working with some wonderful people at the University of Michigan's School of Education and they are very interested in working with Easton students. There is already an exisiting program in which they work one-on-one with students via the internet. It sounds like a very cool mind expanding opportunity. I'll keep you posted on the details, but leave a comment if you think this is something you might be interested in.
Much Love,
Ms. Rious

Welcome

This is a web site for Warren Easton students, faculty and staff to check in and let each other know where they are and what is up. Please feel free to share your experiences in exile and add any comments that your hearts desire.

Greetings, my name is Jenny Rious and I'm a teacher at Warren Easton HS on Canal. I am in the process of setting up a website (with help from amazing volunteers) that will serve as a networking resource for NOPS teachers who are dedicated to rebuilding healthier, stronger and more equitable public schools in the city that we all love. The idea is this: Interested teachers will contact the schools in their area that have registered NOPS students. The teacher will make contact with those students and their families, together they will begin a dialogue about what parents want and expect from their community schools. Ideally each teacher would train 20-30 parent advocates who will then be able to dialogue with each other before and once we all return. I am commited to giving a voice to the people who have, more often than not, never had a voice in our city or in their childrens' future. Please contact me if you are interested. Provide your email, a phone number if possible and the city in which you find yourself! Keep the Faith! Jenny Riousmailto:soosoolady@hotmail.com
